Restoring a Brick Patio In Red Bank, NJ

I recently completed a stone masonry project focused on restoring an old brick patio for a client. The aim was to address the significant wear and tear that had occurred over time, making the patio not only an eyesore but also a potential hazard.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was to fix the brick patio, which had shifted and sunk in various places. This created an uneven surface with gaps where weeds had begun to grow, posing a safety risk and detracting from the patio's overall appearance.

“All of the communications and overall process with Earth and Mortar took place in record time for what we've become accustomed to with repair services in Monmouth! A prompt reply after I reached out, a quote upon a site visit that took place a couple days later, and the patio repaired in a day!”

My Approach

To tackle this project, I first assessed the extent of the damage and planned the restoration process. I began by lifting the displaced bricks and clearing out the old foundation, ensuring that all debris and vegetation were removed. A new stable base was created using gravel to ensure proper drainage and stability.

THE TRANSFORMATION

The transformation was significant. The before image shows an uneven, weed-infested brick patio, while the after image displays a neatly restored, even surface with the bricks firmly in place.

CLIENT’S ENDORSEMENT

“Brett Morris of Earth and Mortar Masonry did a great job for us. Brett was extremely easy to work with, very nice, very professional, and did a stellar job fixing up our old brick work. highly recommend.”
